The Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC) has once again been recognised as the Golf Club of the Year in Malaysia for the second consecutive year in 2011 by one of South East Asia s leading golf publications, ParGolf Magazine.

The second edition of this annual event, ParGolf Awards 2011, was based on three voting channels - voting by a 50-strong panel of golf industry personalities appointed by ParGolf, an online poll on www.pargolfmagazine.com and ParGolf s management selection.

Robert Bird, General Manager of KLGCC, recently received the award from Suzannah Gun Palmer, publisher of ParGolf magazine.

Over the last few years, KLGCC has certainly raised the bar for the Malaysian golfing industry and thoroughly deserves to win the Golf Club of The Year Award for the second year running, said Suzannah.

KLGCC is not only acknowledged as the premier golf club in this country but has led the way in hosting high-profile events that help elevate the status of Malaysian golf and Malaysia in the eyes of the world, she added.

The latest award by ParGolf Magazine adds to the growing list of awards and accolades received by KLGCC over the years from both the local and foreign golfing fraternity.

It was recently adjudged HAPA Golf Course of the Year by the prestigious Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards Regional Series 2011-2013, while the West Course was voted No.1 Golf Course in Malaysia and the KLGCC Clubhouse voted the Best Clubhouse in Asia Pacific by Asian Golf Monthly Awards 2011.

The KLGCC is one of Sime Darby Property s leading leisure centres under its hospitality arm and first opened its doors in 1991. In recent years, it has undergone an extensive refurbishment for both the courses and Clubhouse, helping to put Malaysia at the forefront of the regions golfing industry.
