Police Presence Boosted by Sime Darby Property's Crime Reduction Initiative

KUALA LUMPUR, 22 September 2010 - Three Hyundai Starex MPVs and motorcycles were handed over to The Royal Malaysian Police Force as part of the Company s continuous initiatives to combat crime within its township during an official ceremony held at Sime Darby Pavilion on 22nd September 2010.

IDP Subang, IDP Shah Alam and IDP Klang Utara each received a Hyundai Starex MPV which will be converted into mobile police stations, while Subang received an additional complement of three motorcycles.

The contribution to the The Royal Malaysian Police is also part of Sime Darby Property s Safe City Initiative which includes CCTV networks which are directly linked to the police, guard houses at entry points, traffic access control and other passive security features for the safety of the residents in its townships.

Sime Darby Property has to date invested some RM15 million to implement various integrated and comprehensive Safe City initiatives in its townships which include the installation of CCTV network with 22 cameras positioned at strategic locations along the neighbourhood and linked to the Ara Damansara police station and the Petaling Jaya district headquarters.
