KUALA LUMPUR, 1 November 2016 - Sime Darby Property was recognised among the top property developers in Malaysia at The Edge Malaysia’s Property Excellence 2016 held at the Hilton Kuala Lumpur last night.
Sime Darby Property made it into the top five of The Edge’s ‘Top Property Developer’ list, based on the company’s performance in the 2015 financial year which includes total revenue, profit before tax, net gearing and the number of homes built and sold.
Audited by reputable auditing firm Deloitte Malaysia, qualitative attributes were also taken into consideration which focused on the quality of products, innovation and creativity, value creation for buyers and others.

Sime Darby Property also received awards in The Edge-PAM Green Excellence Award, The Edge-PEPS Value Creation Excellence Award (residential above RM400,000) and The Edge Malaysia Pioneer Development Award categories.
The Green Excellence Award recognised the development of the Ara Damansara Mosque designed based on contemporary tropical architecture with a sustainable, green and place-making concept. The building was certified Gold by the Malaysian Green Building Index, for its wide application of green and sustainable features.
The Avani double-storey link homes in Bandar Bukit Raja, won the Value Creation Excellence Award. All 194 units were sold within a month of its launch in 2011. Avani’s modern contemporary layout and functional design, spacious built-up areas and location next to a main commercial centre were factors that contributed to Avani’s value appreciation and making it a highly sought after property.
The Pioneer Development Award was awarded to Subang Jaya, a township by Sime Darby Property that represents its commitment and success in building sustainable communities. Over the last 40 years, Subang Jaya has grown into a thriving township and the continuous growth of its community of residents, commercial and business activities are seen as an exact example of urban sustainability.
