BANDAR BUKIT RAJA, 19 November 2016 – Sime Darby Property launched an Auxiliary Police Station in Bandar Bukit Raja today, in line with efforts to provide a higher level of security and a conducive living environment for its community.
The launch was officiated by Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department (JPJKK) Director, YDH Commissioner of Police Dato’ Rusli Bin Ahmad and Sime Darby Property Chief Operating Officer, YBhg Dato’ Wan Hashimi Albakri, witnessed by residents of the township.
The Auxiliary Police Station in Bandar Bukit Raja will be manned by personnel from the Sime Darby Property Auxiliary Police unit, launched in June this year. The objective of this initiative is to assist the Royal Malaysian Police (RMP) to combat crime within the township and a mark of support towards the government’s National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS) in enhancing the health, safety and security needs of the nation.
Sime Darby Property Chief Operating Officer YBhg Dato’ Wan Hashimi Albakri said: “Sime Darby Property is committed towards providing the best infrastructure, facilities and amenities, including adequate safety and security features to ensure a conducive living environment for the communities residing in our townships. The launch of the Auxiliary Police station is in line with our approach to increase security at all current and future Sime Darby Property townships, with the aim of creating safe, harmonious and sustainable communities for everyone.”
With the establishment of an Auxiliary Police station in Bandar Bukit Raja, effective crime prevention can be achieved through collaboration, cooperation and systematic coordination between the community, RMP and the Sime Darby Property Auxiliary Police unit.
Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department (JPJKK) Director, YDH CP Dato’ Rusli Bin Ahmad said, We applaud and fully support Sime Darby Property’s efforts in enhancing the safety and security of the Bandar Bukit Raja community. It is with partnerships like this that both parties are able to meet common goals, and the existence of the Auxiliary Police station is seen as an extension of the RMP’s presence within a township. Auxiliary Police as well as the community of a township act as the eyes and ears of the police to fight crime together for the common good of everyone.”
Sime Darby Property will place up to 25 personnel at the Auxiliary Police station in Bandar Bukit Raja. The team will also have two patrol vehicles to monitor the township and enable engagement with residents.
“I sincerely hope that this initiative will be beneficial to the Bandar Bukit Raja community and will encourage the spirit of togetherness in efforts to improve the quality of security and crime prevention in the township,” Dato’ Wan Hashimi added.
