KUALA LUMPUR, 21 October 2011 - This year's Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia saw a total of 72 of the best female golfers around the world congregate at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club where some of the best game plays were witnessed.

World number four Na Yeon Choi from South Korea walked away as champion with the grand prize of 1.9 million USD after a superb round of golf in the final round. This win was extra sweet for her, as it marked the 100th win by a Korean player. Her four-day total of 269 was one stroke better than world number one Yani Tseng who finished on 270 for the tournament while Spanish Azahara Munoz finished third.

21,000 golf fans and spectators flooded the golf course to watch their favorite players in action. Even though the weather threatened to put a halt to the game on a couple of occasions, the organizers and players ensured that a completed game was played every day. There was also an exhibition area filled with lots of fun activities where fans with their friends and families could try their hands at virtual sports like golf, tennis and bowling at the Nintendo Wii Stations, photograph and autograph sessions with some of the star players throughout the day, mini golf competitions and mystery gifts for FourSquare check ins.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak graced the closing ceremony where he thanked Sime Darby for organizing a first class tournament, and shared his appreciation for tournaments of this stature which has successfully garnered media traction all over the world, and has placed Malaysia on the map as a premier golfing location. The week of spectacular golf ended on a high as he presented Malaysia's own Kelly Tan with the best local amateur trophy and Na-Yeon Choi with the Champions Trophy.
