Battersea Power Station was pleased to welcome YB Gobind Singh Deo, the Minister of Digital for Malaysia, for a Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) Networking Event on Thursday 13th June 2024, as part of London Tech Week 2024.

Marking the second year in a row that MDEC has hosted its reception for London Tech Week at Battersea Power Station, YB Gobind Singh Deo was welcomed by Tan Sri Jagan Sabapathy, Chairman of Battersea Project Holding Company Ltd.

The event was hosted at The Light Box at 50 Electric Boulevard, Battersea Power Station’s new high-tech 200,000 sq ft office space, which launched earlier this year. Designed by Foster

+ Partners, the sustainable workplace is the latest opportunity for businesses to join the Battersea Power Station neighbourhood, alongside more than 60 companies which already have offices across the estate including global technology leaders, Apple and SharkNinja. The ‘Light Box’ is a unique 240-person amenity space with presentation area, trees and giant skylights shared by the 50 Electric Boulevard tenants.

Leading the way in modern office design, 50 Electric Boulevard has been designed to promote health and wellbeing. Sustainable, non-porous materials have been used which hold less bacteria than typical building materials, creating a healthier environment for workers. Meanwhile, a tenants’ app enables workers to monitor the building’s performance, analyse environmental usage, and enjoy a touchless journey from the concierge-style reception to their desk.

More than 11.2 million people visited Battersea Power Station in 2023 with the landmark quickly becoming a must-visit destination in Central London. Over 140 shops, restaurants, cafes and unique leisure experiences are now open across the riverside neighbourhood, from major international brands including ZARA, Nike, Uniqlo and Apple, to Malaysian brands such as pewter specialists Royal Selangor and Roti King restaurant. Further retail openings will take place throughout 2024.

Pioneered by a consortium of companies comprising Sime Darby Property, S P Setia and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), which together form Battersea Project Holding Company, Battersea Power Station is a one-of-a-kind 42-acre regeneration project in Central London centred around the world-renowned Grade II* listed Power Station, which once complete will be home to over 25,000 residents and workers. In 2019, leading fund management companies Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) and EPF became the long-term commercial asset holders of the Power Station, securing the future of the landmark for many generations to come.
